7.8  Authorize Disposal of Surplus Property  (Action)
 

Background Information:

According to Board Policy 3270, the Board must take action to declare materials and equipment obsolete so that the District may dispose of those materials. The District has identified the following materials/books have reached the end of their useful life for the District and need to be removed from inventory.

Reports:
1. Materials listed in Attachment "CUSD Surplus Instructional Materials and Books Inventory 2017-18" are considered surplus due to:
  • new adoptions of instructional materials;
  • books/materials becoming obsolete; and
  • books/materials being damaged/in poor condition.
2. Toshiba copier Serial number CDK012661
Financial Impact:
There is no immediate impact to the General Fund as a result of this action for the surplus.  Any funds recovered from disposal will be returned to the General Fund.

Superintendent's Recommendation:

That the Board declares the items obsolete and that the District be authorized to dispose of them in accordance with District policies and Education Code requirements.
