4.13  Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between the Coronado Unified School District and the City of Coronado Police Department. 
Reports:

Annual renewal of Memorandum of Understanding between the Coronado Unified School District and the City of Coronado Police Department.

 

It is the mission of the Coronado Unified School District, in concert with the Coronado Police Department, to provide a safe, secure, orderly teaching and learning environment for all students and staff. The presence of a School Resource Officer (SRO) supports our shared purpose.

 

Ensuring the safety of students and staff on school campuses in Coronado is a priority to the CUSD Governing Board and the Police Department. Campus security is increased by the presence of police officers who interact with our students in both a positive and proactive manner. In addition, Police officers on campus improve relations between the Coronado Police Department and youth throughout the community. 

 

This Memorandum of Understanding outlines the agreed upon responsibilities and expectations to achieve mutual objectives between the Coronado Unified School District and the City of Coronado Police Department.

 

This Memorandum of Understanding shall remain in effect for 12 months commencing July 1st, 2017 and ending June 30th, 2018. Either party shall have the right to cancel this Memorandum of Understanding upon 90 days advance written notice during the term of the agreement.
