6.7  Approve Amendment to Employment Contract: Assistant Superintendent  (Action)
 

Background Information:

Article 6 of the Contract for Employment of Assistant Superintendent Between the Coronado Unified School District and Donnie Salamanca states, in part, that:

 

  • Any consideration of a salary increase shall first be discussed in closed session at a regular meeting of the Board.

 

  • Any adjustments in salary during the term of this Agreement must be mutually agreed to in writing, shall take the form of a written amendment hereto approved in open session during a regular meeting of the Board, and shall not operate as a termination or increase the term of this Agreement.

 

The Board will meet in closed session on June 18, 2020 to discuss and review the Superintendent's recommendations.  Action will be taken in open session. 

Reports:

The following salary adjustment information is provided for your reference:

 

  • A salary increase of 1% is provided to the California School Employees Association (CSEA) for the 2020-21 fiscal year.  This is in addition to annual step increases provided for in the CSEA salary schedule.  The step increases range from 0.75% to 4.01% annually, depending on years of experience.  

 

  • A salary increases of 1% is provided to the Association of Coronado Teachers (ACT) for the 2020-21 fiscal year.  This is in addition to annual step increases provided for in the ACT salary schedule.  The step increases range from 0.20% to 6.72% annually, depending on years of experience.    

 

  • A salary increase valued at 1%, affecting only certain steps/ranges is provided to Certificated/Classified Management & Confidential (Non-Represented) employees for the 2020-21 fiscal year.  This is in addition to annual step increases provided for in the non-represented salary schedule.  The step increases range from 0.50% to 2.5% annually, depending on years of experience.

Financial Impact:

The financial impact will be provided when the Board takes action on this item. 

Superintendent's Recommendation:

That the Board approve the amendment to the employment agreement for the Assistant Superintendent.
