Article 6 of the Contract for Employment of Assistant Superintendent Between the Coronado Unified School District and Donnie Salamanca states that:
C. The Assistant Superintendent’s salary may be increased by up to 1.5% annually subject to a satisfactory evaluation for the preceding year. The Superintendent may, in his discretion, approve an additional salary adjustment(s) during the term of this Agreement, based on consideration of other factors. Any consideration of a salary increase shall first be discussed in closed session at a regular meeting of the Board.
D. Any adjustments in salary during the term of this Agreement must be mutually agreed to in writing, shall take the form of a written amendment hereto approved in open session during a regular meeting of the Board, and shall not operate as a termination or increase the term of this Agreement.
Consistent with the specifications noted above, the Superintendent recommends the following.
- A 1.5% salary increase for a more than satisfactory evaluation (step increase)
- An additional 2.5% salary increase commensurate with the current year adjustment for Certificated/Classified Management & Confidential (non-represented) employees
- A one-year contract extension
The following salary adjustment information is provided for your reference:
- Salary increases of 1.5% and 1% were provided to the California School Employees Association (CSEA) for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 fiscal years, respectively.
- Salary increases of 3% and 5% were provided to the Association of Coronado Teachers (ACT) for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 fiscal years, respectively. An additional salary increase of 1% is scheduled for the 2019-20 fiscal year.
- A salary increase of 2.5% was provided to Certificated/Classified Management & Confidential (Non-Represented) employees for the 2018-19 fiscal year, representing the first 'across the board' increase for this group since July 1, 2015.
