On June 20, 2013, the Board created and adopted local policy named Board Policy (BP) 3050 "Financial Philosophy" in order to clearly communicate its principles for the use of all funds, especially the use and accumulation of reserve funds.
This policy was put into place to communicate a financial philosophy to the community and guide the Superintendent in building the budget. The Board, at that time, listed 5 priorities, of which balancing the budget took precedence.
On April 16, 2015, the Board reviewed, revised, and adopted BP 3050, Financial Philosophy, renamed Financial Guidelines.
On February 2, 2016, the Board reviewed and revised BP 3050, Financial Guidelines (attached). This revised Board Policy is being brought forth for action.
